1. Information We Collect

When you use Hiipal, we may collect:

  • Search queries — text, images, and documents you submit for AI-powered search.
  • Usage data — pages visited, session duration, and interaction patterns (collected anonymously).
  • Chat data — messages sent via peer-to-peer WebRTC connections and direct message (DM) threads. We do not store the content of your chats or DMs on our servers.
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, and approximate location (country level) for service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide AI search results and connect you with other users on similar topics.
  • To improve and personalise the Hiipal experience.
  • To monitor for abuse and ensure platform safety.
  • To display relevant advertisements via Google AdSense.

3. Data Storage

Search queries and indexed content are stored in our secure database (Supabase) hosted on AWS infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region. We retain search logs for up to 90 days for quality and safety purposes.

4. Image Content Moderation

Every image uploaded for indexing on Hiipal is automatically screened by Amazon Bedrock Guardrails — AWS's AI-powered content safety service — before it is stored or made searchable by other users. This check happens at upload time and covers the following categories of harmful content:

  • Explicit sexual content — nudity or sexually explicit imagery.
  • Graphic violence — depictions of severe physical harm or gore.
  • Hate speech or discrimination — imagery promoting hatred based on race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
  • Harassment or personal attacks — content intended to demean or intimidate individuals.
  • Harmful or illegal activity — imagery depicting or promoting illegal acts.

If an image is flagged, it is immediately and permanently deleted from our storage — it is never indexed, never stored, and never visible to other users. You will see a specific reason explaining which category was detected. Images that pass moderation are indexed normally and shown with a "Protected by guardrail" badge confirming they were screened.

This moderation check is performed once at index time and is not repeated during searches. Amazon Bedrock does not retain image content for model training purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

Hiipal uses the following third-party services:

  • Google AdSense — serves advertisements. Google may use cookies to personalise ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure, AI processing, and content moderation via Amazon Bedrock Guardrails.
  • Supabase — database and vector search.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for session management. Google AdSense may set additional cookies for ad personalisation. You can opt out of personalised ads via Google Ad Settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request deletion of any data associated with your session. To do so, contact us at krishnakanthati8@gmail.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Hiipal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Hiipal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
